Inspiration is a wonderful thing, it gives you purpose and drive as well as making you jumpstart creation. I am inspired by alot of things I see in advertising and the media but lately my 5 year old son is doing these crazy drawings that just leap off the page and into MY creative mind. Its funny because he is so not influenced and what comes out of him is raw and untamed, its fun to see what he hands you next. I decided it would be fun to just take some of his drawings, and have him act as the art director in most cases, and strive to do an illustration based off of his sketches, here are a couple.
I am going to pursue this more, as often as possible and see what occurs over the next few months.

A new member of Monkadia has appeared! "Hellonian" a disfigured madmonkey with some serious issues. He wears a suit to cover his appearance and hide his identity (sort of Darth Vaderish). In the scheme of things before his brain was impaired to its evil doing dilerium he was just a simple court jester! go figure...............

This is just fricken' huge Frank Miller's 300 need I say more.
Excerpt from WB website:
Based on the epic graphic novel by Frank Miller, 300 is a ferocious retelling of the ancient Battle of Thermopylae in which King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) and 300 Spartans fought to the death against Xerxes and his massive Persian army. Facing insurmountable odds, their valor and sacrifice inspire all of Greece to unite against their Persian enemy, drawing a line in the sand for democracy. The film brings Miller’s (Sin City) acclaimed graphic novel to life by combining live action with virtual backgrounds that capture his distinct vision of this ancient historic tale.
I'm going to loose my mind!!!!!

I have to say that inbetween actual clients I work on my own illustration projects as well as animation. I am finding although that I'm beginning to have a huge amount of unfinished illustrations I should start finishing. I decided to go through them and take 8 of my favorites and begin only working on those when time permits and make a dent (one is pictured, an alien named Krocker). I also went back and changed the coloring on my old "Supercooper" illustration because it was one of my fav's from 2004. In the meantime look foreward to some animation and new illustration coming to this blog.............

I'm starting a new illustration for the Twigger's Holiday DVD. If you are not
familiar with Channel 101, your missing out!
These guys started there own internet site of 5 minute pilot episodes and it has
recieved some acclaim, Jack Black, Andy Samberg (SNL) have both appeared in Channel 101
shows. I dont have to say much about a site that features a parody of reality tv called
"Kicked in the Nuts"........

Hey guys I came up with all these new characters for Mojizu, all of them are primates in Monkadia some living in a city called Chimpopolis. I even came up with a fake poster for a pretend Saturday morning cartoon. I envision snow monkeys as having these young chimps who they teach peaceful telepathic skills for bringing peace back to all primates.

I was cleaning out my art studio and thought it might be cool to
post some pictures of some of my past sculpture.
Some of these are just busts I sculpted, and some are actually for
a chess set I designed featuring aliens against zombies!
All my sculptures including the mugs are sculpted out of modeling
clay and then cast in plaster. I have tons of molds made and I can cast any of my sculptures in ceramic and fire them in my mother-in-laws Kiln!
enjoy!
